Israel Launches Intense Airstrikes on Houthi Targets in Yemen

IDF Strikes Houthi-Controlled Ports and Infrastructure

On Sunday evening, Israel confirmed a series of targeted airstrikes against Houthi rebel positions in Yemen, hitting three ports and a power plant. According to Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, the strikes were a direct response to repeated drone and missile attacks launched by the Iranian-backed Houthis against Israeli territory.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had issued evacuation warnings prior to the attacks, urging civilians near the ports and the power station to evacuate.

Truce with Iran Fails to Deter Houthi Aggression

Despite the June truce between Israel and Iran, Houthi forces have continued to target Israel using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic missiles. This ongoing hostility has prompted Israel to take what officials call "measured and defensive action" to neutralize threats from the southern Red Sea region.
